This one day trip over Hai Van pass is so jam-packed with adventure it certainly ranks among the top rides in Vietnam. Today’s adventure incorporates a bit of everything; from sweeping vistas to historic sites and a delicious local lunch. This is certainly not your average Vietnam day trip! Your first stop is at Thap Bang An where we will visit a 900-year old Cham tower. Then zoom up Bo Bo Hill, also known as Hilltop 55, a site of historical importance during the American war before breaking for a coffee at a local coffee shop.
From here we begin the climb up Hai Van pass, winding higher and higher into the often cloud-shrouded skies. At the top we stop and soak in the beautiful views of one of Vietnam’s most scenic spots. The downward descent is no less exciting this afternoon. Reaching the base of the mountain you’ll happen upon a stretch of pristine coastline near the village of Lang Co. We’ll break for lunch and have a chance to dip our feet in the sea and kick back with a refreshing drink before turning back and returning over Hai Van pass.
On the return we’ll make a stop in a fishing village for a nose around, seeing the traditional nets and meeting with the men and women who make their livelihood bringing in the freshest catch. We’ll cruise back into Hoi An just before sunset.
